Hungry For Building

Well, I've Finally Found The Time To Post A Blog About The Show Last Saturday So I Guess I Should Do it Now, Although I Have No Clue Where To Begin. Just So You Know, This Will Probably Be Extremely Long So Dont Feel Like You Should Read The Whole Thing, Its Basically Just For My Own Entertainment :)
Wow, So Saturday Was Pretty Much The Best Day Ever. I Woke Up At 4 AM Because I Couldnt Sleep And I Would Have Had To Wake Up At 5 Anyways To Leave For New York. We (Meaning My Mom, Dad, 2 Uncles, Brother, Sister, Friend, And Me) Left My House At 6 And Ended Up In NYC At About 11 (Just A Side Note For Lindsey, We Saw A Tim Horton's On The Way So I Made My Family Stop..They Good Food! [: ) . Umm, Well We Couldnt Check Into Our Hotel Yet So We Wandered Around A Bit To Look For The Venue And It Turned Out To Be only About 3 Or 4 Blocks From Where We Were Staying. We Had Some Great Pizza For Lunch And, After Checking Into Our Hotel, Decided To Do Some Sightseeing. Around 2 O' Clock We Went By The Venue And There Was Already A Line Of About 20 People And, Seeing As My Dad Refused To Get In Line Until 6 I Was Getting Rather Nervous. I Texted Andrea And Told Her And She Said That She Was Getting Presents For The Guys But She Would Try To Get In Line Soon And Would Try Saving Me A Spot (THANK YOU!!!). So We Kept Going In An Attempt To Get To Times Square And What Do I See But 2 Dour Buses, One With A Switchfoot Bumper Sticker. That Was Exciting But What Was Even More Exciting Was When Someone Came Walking Down The Street Talking On His Cell Phone. But Of Course This Wasnt Just Any Someone, This Was An Certain Mr. Jon Schneck :) Well, Needless To Say I Was Excited. I Was Even More Excited When My Mom And I Started To Walk Up To Him, He Noticed Us, Smiled, Hung Up His Phone, And Came Over With A Hug. It Was Like We Were Best Friends Or Something. We Just Started Talking And Took Some Pictures.

Then He Told Us That Thiessen Was In Madison Square Garden Watching The Illinois State Football Game And Had Been Sick Lately But That He Had Told Matt That We Were Coming And He Wanted To Meet Us! That Was So Amazing! Jon Had To Go Then But I Gave Him His/Everyones Presents ( Starbucks Giftcards And Scarves That My Mom And I Knit) And He Said He'd See Us After The Show.
After That Awesomeness I Just Had To Call Andrea And Tell Her, So We Talked For A Little While And She Was Already In Line While Her Friend Was Working On Their Present For Schneck. Anyways, Then We Went To Central Park, Times Square (After My Dad Assured Us He Knew Where He Was Going And Ended Up Passing Times Square By About 10 Blocks), And Back To The Hotel To Get Ready To Get In Line...Or So I Thought. Apparently My Family Isnt As Relient K Ecstatic As Me And No One Would Come With Me To Get In Line. Then Andrea Called And Said That The Line Was Wicked Long And That She Would Try To Keep Our Spot But We Should Get There As Soon As Possible. Well, I Got Half Of My Family To Come So We (My Mom, Sister [Rachel], Friend [Amanda], And I) Went To The Hammerstein Ballroom And After About 15 Minutes Of Searching Found Andrea (The Snapple Cart! :D ). She Was Really Far Up In The Line And Im Very Lucky To Have A Friend Like Her, Otherwise I Would Have Been Stuck 3 Blocks Back At The End Of The Line. We Hung Out And Talked For A While And After About An Hour The Doors Opened And We Went Inside. Unfortunately, Andrea Had Balcony Tickets And We Had Floor So We Couldnt Be Together For The Show But I Know We Each Had Loads Of Fun. Ruth Came Out And I Thought That They Were Great But The Crowd Was The Lamest That I Have Ever Seen. The Most That Anyone Did Was Clap And Even At That People Stared At You Funny. Oh Well, Then Relient K Came Out And They Were Fantastic, As Always. The Crowd Got A Bit Better During There Set And This One Guy That I Was Next To Was Hilarious. Once Matt Came Out He Started To Flip Out About His Mustache :) It Was Entertaining. Then, When Be My Escape Started He Started To Flip Out Again Because "This Song Is My LIFE!!!!!" HaHa, So We Both Started Dancing And Everyone Thought We Were Crazy. Then I Somehow Got Up To About The Third Row Of People And Met This Kid Named Sean. He Was There For Switchfoot And Didnt Expect Relient K To Be As Great As They Were And He Was Laughing At Me The Whole Time They Were Playing Because Apparently I Was Really Rocking Out But I Got Him To Join Me Once The Snow Fell For Sleigh Ride. :D He Was Also Surprised At My Knowledge Of Sadie Hawkins Dance When I Explained That They Were Going To Get Someone To Play With Them After Matt Asked For A Volunteer. He Just Kinda Stared At Me And Was Like "Have You Seen Them Before?" YES!!!
Anywho, Then Switchfoot Came On And Wow, Were They Fantastic! Jon Foreman Sure Knows How To Put On A Show. He Started Crowd Surfing At One Point And Im Proud To Say That I Helped Stop Him From Falling On The Floor :] The He Just Walked Right Through The Crowd And Climbed Up On A Balcony And Started Singing. I Was Surprised That The Crowd Didnt Mob Him But Like I Said Before, They Were Like Dead People. He Also Did A Wicked Funny Remix Of Crazy In Love, Gone, And Umbrella...Good One Mr. Foreman. Rebuild Was Done In The Middle of Their Set And It Was Phenomenal.
After The Show We Waited Around Inside For A While With Andrea And Her Friend Aldo But The Security Guys Lived Up To Their Mean New Yorker Standard And Were Herding Everyone Out Like Cattle. Andrea Disappeared And I Didnt Know Where She Went So My Family, Amanda, And I Went Outside And Back To The Buses. We Waited There For A Little While And Then Jon Came Out And, After Signing A Couple Of Autographs For Some People, Came Over To Us. At This Point I Talked To Andrea On The Phone And Told Her To Hurry Out Back Because Jon Was There. She Said She'd Be There Soon And Then Appeared A Few Minutes Later To Talk To Jon. We Talked For A While (He Repeatedly Thanked Me For The Gift And Seemed Really Shocked That I ActuallyKnit The Scarves..."Did You Make Them? Thats So Cool!") And He Said That Matty T. And Dave Were Coming Out To Go Somewhere Soon So He Would Tell Them We Were Here. So e Went Back On The Bus And After A While Who Comes Out But Mr. Matthew Arnold Thiessen. Now That Was Exciting. He Came Over And Was Really Shy And It Was So Funny. We All Just Kinda Stood There Looking At Each Other And I Broke The Silence With "Do you Want To Meet The Irish Fellows?" HaHa, Matt Was Like "Oh, Yeah Yeah!" So I Introduced Them. Now, If You Were Meeting Your Hero Who You AHve Wanted To Meet For Years What Do You Think You Would Talk About? I Bet Its Nothing Like What I Actually Did Talk About. Well, Im Sure Your Curious....We Talked About...Checkoslovakia And His Grandma. How Lame Am I!? HaHa, It Does Make A Good Story Though :]
Anyways, After That Retardedness We Took Some Pictures And He Went Back On The Tour Bus. (At This Point My Dad, Brother, And Uncles Left To Get Some Sleep.) Then We Started Talking To This Guy Named Rob Who Looks Like Thiessen And Has Actually Been Mistaken For Him A Few Times. Even Matt Sees it And Upon Meeting Him Once Said "Hello, Good Looking." Nice One, Matt. :) We Took A Picture With Rob Too, Just For Good Measure.

Then Who Should Come Walking Down The Street But Good Old Johnny Warning. Also, Hoopes Kinda Appeared Out Of Midair :) i Talked To John For A Bit And Then Moved On To Hoopes And Of Course My Mom Just Had To Mention Allie Dunigan. Allie Is This Girl Know That Just Happens To Be Matt's Cousin (Although He Then Said That She Is Actually His Unlce's Wife's Cousin). That Was Rather Awkward. Then We Got A picture With The Both Of Them Before They Went Off To Get Something To Eat.

After Taking The Picture I Then Turned Around To See Who But The One And Only Shannon Coming Out Of The Bus With Matt. I Talked To Her For A Very Short Time And They All Left For Food. You Might Be Wondering Where Dave Was In All Of This. Well, I Have No Idea. My Mom And I Started Talking To Derek, The Merch Guy, And When We Mentioned That We Hadnt Seen Dave He Asked If We Wanted Him To Check The Bus For Us. So He Did But He Came Out And Said That No One Was On The Bus, He Hadnt Checked Dave's Bunk But He Usually Stays Up Late So We Had No Clue Where He Was.
At This Point People Are Running Across The Street So We Went Over To See What Was Happening And Jon Foreman Was Giving An Acoustic Show In The Sidewalk. It Was Great. Andrea Got Some Great Footage Of It So Ask Her If you Want To See It. After I Got To Say About One Word To Him But Couldnt Get A Picture Because He Was Trying To Put His Stuff Away. We Crossed Back Over The Street The Tour Buses And All Of Switchfoot Was Over There So Andrea And I Each Got Pictures With Tim Foreman And Jerome.

Then I Saw Ethan Luck Standing Off To The Side Enjoying Himself By Watching All The Crazy Fans And I Told Andrea That We Should Go Over And Say Hi. So We Went Over And The First Thing He Said Was "Do You Even Know Who I Am?" "Yes, Your Ethan Luck" (Insert Big Smile On His Face) "From Demon Hunter. " (Insert Even Bigger Smile And A New Readiness To Talk) "Wow, You Really Do Know Who I Am!" We Talked To Him For A While But Andrea Wandered Off So It Was Just My mom And I Talking To Him For A Good 20 Minutes About Some Very Interesting Things That I Dont Know If I Should Talk About So I'll See If I Can And Get Back To You :] Then He Had To Go Because His Wife Called To Say Goodnight. That Pretty Much Wrapped Up My Night. We Said Bye To Rob ( We Were Still Hanging Out Throughout This Whole Thing) And Andrea And Aldo Headed Back To The Hotel With Us.
That Just About Sums Up My Relient K Filled Night...I Hope You Enjoyed Reading About It Although I Dont See Why Or How Anyone Could Even Get Through That Jumbled Mess. Oh Well, Some Of You Did Ask For It. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Red Sox!!!!

Well, The Red Sox Are In The World Series And Since Im A Fan I Figure I May As Well Blog About It. Most Of You Probably Dont Care But 2004 Was Our First World Series Win Since 1918 . It Was All Because Of A Curse That Babe Ruth Put On Us After We Traded Him To Our Mortal Enemies, The New York Yankees. Well, Finally, After 86 Years We Broke The Curse :)
Now We Are In The World Series Again And After Winning The First 2 Games ( One Of Which With At 13 To 1 Score) Im Feeling Rather Hopeful. :D Go Red Sox!

Drummer Dave Douglas

Dave Is Leaving Relient K. His Last Show Is Gonna Be On December 29 And Then It Seems Like He Will Go Full Time With His Wife In Gypsy Parade. Feel Free To Be Utterly Depressed But Just Know That Its Not Gonna Get Him Back So (As Im Trying To Learn) It Really Has No Point. I Hope That We Can Be Happy For Dave As He Moves On And Can Welcome The New Drummer (Whoever He May Be) With Open Arms.
Heres What Dave Said:
"I know that there have been some rumors and speculation about my future in Relient K. I suppose I should clear that up. The time has, in fact, come for me to leave the band. This has been a very difficult decision, but I know that this is the right one. Relient K has been a huge part of my life and I'm sure that it is going to take a long time to get used to not being a part of the band any more. I've had a lot of good times, met a lot of great people, and been able to go a lot of places. it's been a blessing and a pleasure to work with Matt, Matt, John, and Jon. Also, I want to thank everyone else who has been involved with the band, especially those who have been on the road with us. Our fans are amazing and I want to thank all of you for your support and enthusiasm.

I am moving on to new music projects, and I hope that I will still have all of your support. Come the first of the year I will be devoting most of my time to Gypsy Parade . Feel free to look us up and say hi. Until then I will playing with Relient K, so I've got a few more shows left in me. I suppose that this is my "farewell tour." hopefully I, and the rest of Relient K, will see you at one of them.
Thanks to all of you.

-Dave Douglas"

Mcdlive.com

Someone Was Cheating! Im Pretty Sure Who, But As Melanie Pointed Out
"Before everyone dissess poor Matt White too much, he may or may not have anything to do with it, and I am fairly certain at least one other band had a bot going on as well. Often it is a fan that sets it up and the band isn't involved. Glad McD's is trying to fix it. Those votes may or may not count in the final count. Read the fine print. :) "
Well, I Cant Say Im Surprised That Someone Was, Although To Cheat For The Sake Of McDonalds Is Rather Low. Anyways, Keep Voting Because Relient K Has A Chance Now! Heres What Schneck Said Although Im Sure That You Guys Have Already Seen This.

"When you go to vote at Mcdlive.com now, there is a word verification box, which means that there may have been voting bots or something like that before.... obviously i dont know that and im not accusing anyone of anything, but alls im saying, is everyone who voted before, go back and vote some more, and maybe we can still pull this off... thanks for all of your support.

peace love and word boxes

Boring Blogging

Well, I Guess It's time For An Update But Not Much Has Happened Since I Last Posted. Im Probably Just Going To Ramble On Mindlessly Throughout This But Its My Boring Blog So Im Gonna Do what I Want With It. After All, You Dont Have To Read It :) It Im Still Wicked Excited About The Relient K Concert And Im Trying To Live Through A Month Of School Before It. Ummmm, Oh, I Brought In A Picture Of Matty-T To My Art Teacher And She Said That I Could Draw It So I Suppose That Is Exciting. I Have A Really Cool Idea For It So Lets See If My Lack Of Artistic Talent Will Ruin It Or Not. If Not Then I Might Post It On Here.
Other Than That Not Much Has Happened
So If You Got Through This, Kudos To You. I Think I Might Enter This In That Contest that Matt Was Talking About :]

Can You Say Woohoo?

Yesterday Was Amazing. Let Me Just Take This Moment To Say That Im Very Glad That I Have A Crazy Family. My Only Chance To Get To See Relient K And Switchfoot This Tour Was If My Uncles Came Out From Ireland To Go See Them With Me. This Was Highly Unlikely Because The Just Came Out For RKIn May But I Figured, Well, They're Awesome And Crazy So Maybe If I Talk To Them They'll Come Out Again. So, For The Past Month Or So I Have Been Talking To Them And Explaining That It Wouldnt Inconvenience Us At All If They Came To Visit, In Fact, We Would Love To See Them Again. After Alot Of Persuading My Uncle James Called Yesterday AndHe Said That There Was A Special Flight Deal For The Week Of The Show But He Wanted To See If The Flights Were Cheaper If You Bought Them From Over Here (They Were Last Time). This Was Extremely Good News But Nothing Was Set In Stone Yet. My Mom Came Home A Few Minutes Later And After About 1/2 An Hour I Found Myself Being Asked To Book A Flight! I Was So Excited That I Was Literally Jumping Up And Down For About 20 Minutes :]
Now The Fight Is Booked, The Concert Tickets Are Bought, And November 17 Can Not Come Fast Enough.

Yesterday Was Also Wicked Cool (Sorry Im From Boston (: ) Because My Mom Said That We Can Probably Go See The Color Fred When Fred Comes To Alston In October!

Yeah, That Was One Good Day :)

Adios!

Music

Is Amazing. Anyone That Would Be Reading This Already Knows That But I Feel The Need To Say It. Today Was Absolutely Horrible At School (Think About Taking A One Question Pop Quiz That You Either Get A 100% Or 0% On And That Wasnt Even The Worst Of It) And I Was In A Really Bad Mood. The Moment I Got Out Of The Building I Started Listening To Sullivan To Help And It Most Certainly Did. Then, When I Got Home, I Spent The Afternoon With Paramore And Taking Back Sunday Which Was Also Immensely Uplifting, But Of Course There Is One That I Havent Mentioned. Say It With Me Now, Relient K. That Was The Pinata At My Party And The Icing On My Cake. Now I Choose To Just Forget The Junk Of Today And I Am "Pressing On" (You Knew It Was Coming) Towards A New And Better Tomorrow.

Sox, Ducks And Foreign Flights

Today Was A Really Good Day. Over Half My High School ( Which Only Has About 70 Kids To begin With) Is In Pennsylvania For A Soccer Tournament So Today The Remaining 30 Of Us Went To Boston For A Tour Of Fenway Park ( Home Of The Red Sox) And To Go On The Duck Tours. Let Me Just Say That An Empty Baseball Field is A Very Cool Place. We Got To Go On The Green Monster And Do Some Other Very Special Stuff That Is Pretty Much Once In A Lifetime Unless You Are Rich :)
The Duck Tour Was Great Too. The Guy Who Was Driving It Was Really Old And Kept Saying Very Reassuring Things Like "I Hope We Make It" And So When He Said That Our "Duck Has Died" We Didnt Take Him Seriously Until We Noticed That The Engine Had, In Fact, Stopped Working. It Was Really Funny And I Almost Wish That It Had Happened On The Water So We Could Do As My Teacher Mr V Said And Make A Raft Out Of The Life Jackets And Try To Save Ourselves. Now That Would Have Been Fun :D So After about 20 Minutes Of Laughing About Our "Dead Duck" And Making Lame Jokes Such As "We're Sitting Ducks" We Finally Got A New And Very Much Alive Duck Boat To Save Our Tour. All in All The Field Trip Was Quite An Adventure And Im Pretty Hyped Up From It All.
And Just To Make Me Even More Hyper I Just Got Off The Phone With My Uncle And Guess What? My Uncles Might Come Back Out From Ireland To See Relient K Again!!! Notice The Triple Exclamation Point. This Would Be Super Amazing And So Im Pretty Much Flipping Out Right Now. Yay Ireland!
Thats All For Now,
Sarah

Derek Webb

Last Night Was Great.I Went To A Derek Webb Concert With My Youth Pastor, His Wife, And My Other Friend Amanda. Derek Did A Great Job, Especially Considering That It Felt Like It Was 100 Degrees In The Building. P.W. Gopal Opened And He Had A Great Voice But The Way That He Belted Out Everything Made It Impossible To Understand What He Was Saying. Apart From The Heat I Had A Geat Night And For Dinner We Got To Stop At Fuddruckers Which Is Always A Treat :) Well Thats It For Now. Hopefully Something Eventful Will Happen Soon That I Can Post Here But I Doubt It So
Until Next Time,
Sarah

School, Banjos, And Delicious Fairy Cakes

Today Was My First Day Back At Good Ol' SSCA And All I Can Say Is That Summer Has Ruined My Brain. I Have Forgotten Any Spanish That I Previously Knew And The Rest of My Classes Werent Much Better. Oh Well...On A Brighter Note I Had A Banjo Lesson Today And I Think That I Have Gotten The Little Interlude In Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet Almost Down-Pat. So Now Im Off To Eat Some Wonderful Irish Desserts That My Mom Made To Celebrate (Or Ease The Pain Of) Going Back To School.

But Everyone Else is Doing It!

I've Had This Blog For A While But I Never Got Around To Really Posting Anything. Now Everyone Is Suddenly Blogging So I Figured I May As Well Try To Get This Thing Up And Running. Now I Have Nothing Left To Say Except That School Starts On Monday And Im Left To Wonder Where My Summer Went.
Thats It For Now,
Sarah
